For Christmas 2026, start with the event and operating date. Bethlehem’s Christkindlmarkt runs on six selected date blocks from November 13 to December 20; Hersheypark Christmas Candylane runs on selected dates November 13–January 3, 2027. Hershey Sweet Lights will not return in 2026. Choose the evening you want before choosing the base.

Bethlehem: the actual 2026 market dates

ArtsQuest lists Christkindlmarkt on November 13–15, 20–22 and 27–29, then December 3–6, 10–13 and 17–20. It is not open every day between the first and last dates. Published hours are 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The market is at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks, 645 East First Street. Use the organiser’s ticket link and check the actual date and any separately booked activity. Adjacent public parking is first come, first served; a ticket does not reserve a parking place. Choose a hotel by the route to your chosen event, not simply by a Bethlehem address.

Hershey: Candylane, not the old Sweet Lights drive-through

Hersheypark lists Christmas Candylane on selected dates from November 13, 2026 through January 3, 2027. Use the current park calendar for your exact day and hours before buying admission or a room. This is a walking park visit with selected rides and attractions; it is not confirmation of a full summer ride programme.

The park explicitly says Hershey Sweet Lights will not return in 2026. Do not book a trip expecting that drive-through display. Ride availability can change with temperature, wind and snow; check the park’s current weather policy and the attractions your group cares about.

Day trip or overnight near your evening?

One dated visit can work as a day trip when the driver or return transport can manage the journey after the event. For dinner, a later finish or a second day, compare a local overnight by the exact venue-to-property route. Ask the property about parking, late check-in and any transfer before treating it as part of the plan.

Bethlehem and Hershey are separate bases. Keep the evening in the region you selected instead of adding a late cross-state drive or using Philadelphia as the default hotel location. Compare full room, parking and transport charges and cancellation terms for your dates. Fall: keep the road loop compact

The Poconos, Laurel Highlands and PA Wilds suit foliage-led trips, but they are not interchangeable. Pick one road system or park anchor, then stay close enough to avoid spending the best daylight on transfers. Check PennDOT conditions and the forecast before travelling; keep a shorter route or indoor break available if the weather changes.
